My Study5 Ways to Get Motivated to Study |
I don't know about you, but sometimes I find it extremely hard to get myself to study for an upcoming exam. I'd much rather do homework than memorize vocabulary. Here are 3 suggestions that can pump you up for the task!
1. Study 2-3 nights before the day of the exam so you can study the material in small portions rather than all at once. Knowing you do not have an overwhelmingly amount of studying to do increases your willingness to get started.
2. Set a timer (1-2 hours) for how long you will dedicate to studying the subject. Keep an eye on the time so that you can appropriately allot your time and get excited when you only have a few minutes left(: Only studying for an hour or two enables you to put the task in perspective to the rest of your day.
3. Grab a snack to munch on! Some brain food such as popcorn, grapes, coffee, or even a piece of gum can keep your brain awake and functioning. Plus, who doesn't love food? It is the perfect way to motivate anyone to study(:
4. Study with a friend. If you are sharing your pain of studying with another, you may have more of a desire to grin and bear it. This also gives you a greater variety of study methods such as quizzing each other and teaching each other unfamiliar or confusing topics. Who knows? You may enjoy studying this way and even share a few laughs(: Get through it together!
5. Make a list of reasons why you should study and then read the list before each study session. This will remind you that studying is important, it helps you, and it pleases the Lord. Here are some ideas for your motivational list:
