Count it ALL Joy

Count it ALL joy. The good, the bad, the fun, the boring, the hurt, the happy. Because of Jesus, we can consider everything a joy.

God is at work right now

Count all things joy because God uses all things as a means to give you priceless gifts. Spiritual gifts can't be bought and will never fade.

God knows the right ways to give you these gifts, through His Word, through His Spirit, and even through suffering. Our present joy keeps us patient in trials because we know that God supplies everything we need.

The testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.  James 1:2-4

God works everything for good

Count all things joy because God works all things for our good (Rom. 8:28). Good things are always ahead of us because God goes before and prepares them for us. The promise of heaven is a guarantee that God will restore everything to perfection.

We can abound in joyful expectation of the joy that is to come. And while we wait for that ultimate joy? We can experience the goodness of the Lord right now by delighting in Him and trusting His promises.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13

The Holy Spirit is inside of us

Count all things joy because we have a living joy inside of us. The Holy Spirit produces joy in our hearts. Joy is a natural side effect of walking closely with Jesus. Joy occurs in the soul and comes from the Spirit. We can't make joy on our own, it is a gift from God. The Holy Spirit gives us eyes to see our source of joy, Jesus Christ, for who He is. As a result, we experience joy in Him.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. Galatians 5:22

Nothing can take away your joy

Count all things joy because no thing can steal your joy. Even if what you experience does not feel happy, you can rejoice in the fact that sorrow does not last (Psalm 30:5). Joy will come. Ask God to fill you with His joy that transcends unhappy circumstances.

So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you... Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:22

Joy is ours for the taking anytime, anywhere

Count all things joy because we have unlimited access to complete joy. Jesus Christ tour the veil keeping us from true joy, opening up full access to the Creator of the Universe. Where God is, there is fullness of joy!

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11

* * *
God has put more joy in our heart than those who have all the wealth in the world. Christians should be the most joyful people on earth because we have the hope of heaven. With joy we can draw from the wells of salvation (Is. 12:3).
