Don't Look Down...On Those With Different Gifts

I look down on those with different gifts than me.

The gifts God has blessed us with do not put us on a higher spiritual level than other believers. Every child of God has different ways they glorify God. Spiritual gifts do not equal spiritual maturityHumility is a key ingredient for exercising our God-given abilities.

When observing other believers, instead of judging or comparing, see the common-ground person of Jesus in them. He is the One who brings us together. He unifies us. We are equal because of His work on the cross.

Spiritual gifts are given because God chooses. It's not because of anything we have done so we cannot feel inadequate or prideful in relation to other believers.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.       1 Corinthians 12:4-11

One more way can keep from looking down:

❤︎ See your talents and other's talents as gifts of God given out of grace. Do not attribute them to works. Use them with humility.
