Wise Word Wednesday

"Sometimes going across the street is harder than going around the world"

Louie Giglio

I just read these "Wise Words" in a book I am currently reading called Passion: The Bright Light of Glory. This quote is taken out of a very convicting chapter. Although Jesus does call us to go out among the nations and preach the gospel, Christians often neglect the people God has placed in our lives at home. They need Christ's love just as much. Sometimes, taking a one-time opportunity to spend a week in Mexico can replace the continuous opportunities God gives us at home. The Great Commission is a lifestyle, not a summer! Whatever we do...whether it be cleaning dishes, talking in the front yard with a neighbor, or filing paperwork in an office...should be done to the glory of God. He is to be supreme in our lives. Our excellence in the things we do is a reflection of Christ's place in our hearts. It does not matter what your "whatever" is. Your passion does not matter as long as your purpose is to please Him. Do not let your passion replace your purpose. Share God's love with the world everyday by the way you work, speak, respond, and act!

Who are some people that are in your life..right next door...that you can invest in today?

What is your "whatever" that you can glorify God with?

{ And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17 }
